THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

Hello again everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you are having a good day, and a good week so far. 

Today we present two more phrases related to the summer and hot weather.

Today's 1st phrase is: This heat is unbearable

Meaning / Use: We use this phrase when we want to emphasize that the temperature is so high that it is difficult to tolerate.

Example 1: This heat is unbearable; I haven't gone outside even once today. It's just too hot!

Today's 2nd phrase is: In the dog days of summer

Meaning / Use: This phrase refers to the hottest days of summer, typically in late July and early August (in the northern hemisphere).

Example 2: It’s so hot in the dog days of summer; we should plan a trip to the mountains or to the ocean.
