Today we look at more vocabulary related to the summer and hot weather.

Today's phrase is: Melting away

Meaning / Use: We use this phrase when we feel extremely hot, as if one is literally melting.

Example 1: I'm melting away in this heat; I need to find some shade, or go to the beach!

Today's word is: Heatwave

Meaning / Use: We use this word to refer to a prolonged period of excessively hot weather.

Example 2: The city issued an official warning about the heatwave, which is expected next week.
