Today we present another word and a phrase related to diversity and inclusion. 

Today's word is: Intersectionality

Meaning / Use: Intersectionality is the idea that people can be affected by more than one type of discrimination or unfair treatment at the same time. For example, a person might face challenges not just because of their race, but also because of their gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation — all at once.

Example 1: A woman of colour may face challenges because of both her gender and her race — that’s intersectionality.

Today's phrase is: Creating a diverse workforce benefits everyone.

Meaning / Use: This phrase highlights the advantages of diversity in the workplace.

Example 2: Creating a diverse workforce benefits everyone; and research shows that diverse workplaces are more creative and more productive.
