IT'S A SCORCHER: meaning and examples

Today we present two final phrases related to the summer and hot weather.
Today's 1st phrase is: It's a scorcher
Meaning / Use: This phrase is used to refer to a day that is very hot, often hotter than usual.
Example 1: Wow! It's a scorcher today. I think I'm going to stay indoors, where it’s quite cool, thanks to the air conditioner.
Today's 2nd phrase is: Burning up
Meaning / Use: We use this phrase when we are feeling extremely hot or overheated.
Example 2: I’m burning up in this heat; I think I need a cold drink and a swimming pool!
