MAKE (= CREATE): meaning and examples

Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you are having a good day.

For the rest of the week, we are going to concentrate on a very high-frequency word in English: the verb to make.

Today we start with the most common meaning of make: to create or produce.

Example 1:
This furniture is made of quality products; it was made in Spain. I know this becaues my father-in-law, Pedro, built it.

Example 2:
Hollywood is going to make a movie about her incredible life.

Make is also used in many different ways and in dozens of phrases: make a decision, make an effort, make progress, make a mistake, etc. Over the next few days, we will review some of the different uses of this very-useful verb.
