DEAL (TREATMENT): meaning and examples

Today we look at another use of the word DEAL.
Today's meaning is: the way someone is treated by other people.
Example 1:
The union is demanding a fair deal for the coal miners; they want higher wages and safer working conditions.
Example 2:
Immigrants have a bad deal under the new government.
