DEAL (= AGREEMENT): meaning and examples

In the next few lessons, we will look at meanings and uses of a very common English word: DEAL (noun).
Its most obvious meaning is: a formal business or political agreement.
Example 1:
The conservative party made a deal with the centre-right party and they were able to make their leader the Prime Minister.
Example 2:
The two airline companies reached a merger deal in order to avoid bankruptcy.
