TO TAKE AFTER: meaning and examples

Hello again and welcome to the last Daily Vitamin lesson of the week. 

Today's expression is: the phrasal verb to take after somebody.

It means: to look or behave like an older family member.

Example 1:
He takes after his father; he looks and acts just like him.

Example 2:
She really takes after her mother. She looks like her and has the same sharp humour as her mother did.
