MESS-3: meaning and examples

Today we continue with our look at expressions with the word MESS.

Today's expression is: to mess around, to fool around or to mess about

Meaning 1: to behave in a silly or annoying way, especially instead of doing something useful.

Example 1:
Jack. Will you stop messing around and get back to work!

Meaning 2
: to spend time doing something in a relaxed way, for pleasure.

Example 2:
We spent the whole day messing about at home. We didn't do anything special, but it was relaxing.
