VOCABULARY FOR PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT: meaning and examples
Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had an excellent weekend.
This week we are going to look at words and expressions related to personal achievement. Today we have a word, and a phrase.
Today's 1st word / phrase is: Milestone
Meaning / Use: A milestone is an important event or point in a person’s life or career.
Example 1: Getting my first job, and my first paycheque, was a major milestone in my career.
Today's 2nd word / phrase is: I’m proud of my achievements
Meaning / Use: We use this phrase to express satisfaction with one’s accomplishments.
Example 2: I’m proud of my achievements in my career and personal life.
And we can use the same phrase when referring to someone else.
Example 3: I’m very proud of my son's achievements. He's got a university degree and he is working and supporting himself financially too.
