Today we continue our Theme Thursday about famous lines from films. Today we are looking at the movie Casablanca and this line:
HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU, KID.
Rick says this to Ilsa as she is leaving Casablanca. At this point in the film, we do not know if Ilsa will be with Rick or Laszlo. These might be the last words that Rick says to Ilsa, and these words are now very famous.
What does this line mean? It's Rick's way of saying "goodbye." It's like a toast to Ilsa.
