THEME THURSDAY: EXPRESSIONS FOR INTEREST (TO BE AN AVID ______): meaning and examples
This month's Theme Thursday is all about EXPRESSING INTEREST. We know that students are bored saying "I like this" and "I like that," and there are many other (great) expressions to use! We have looked at a few; here are the links.

Today we are looking at the expression AN AVID _____.
Definition: someone who really enjoys an activity.
Example 1: She is an avid reader. You should see her library.
Example 2: My Dad is an avid fisherman. He goes every weekend.
Example 3: When I was a child, I was an avid video game player.
Notice that we use a noun after AVID because it is an adjective.
