SET UP

Good morning and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you are having a great week.

Today we continue with our series of phrasal verbs with the verb SET by looking at a very common phrasal verb which has several different meanings

Today's phrasal verb is: to set something up (separable)

Meaning 1: to start something, such as a business or an organization.
Example 1: He set up a hotel business in a popular coastal town. OR He set a hotel business up in a popular coastal town.

Meaning 2: to build a structure or put a structure into place or to get a piece of equipment ready.
Example 2: Can you help me set up the tent? It's getting dark and we won't be able to see what we're doing if we don't start now. When we're finished, we can set up the barbecue.

Meaning 3: to organize an event or meeting.
Example 3: When shall we set up the interview? Friday would be a good day for me.
