PHRASES FOR DISAGREEMENT

Good morning, everyone. Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin. I hope you had an excellent weekend, and I hope you are having a great week, so far.

This week we are going to look at phrases that we can use to disagree with someone, in a very polite and less-forceful way.

Today's 1st phrase is: I see your point, but...

Meaning / Use: This phrase acknowledges the other person’s perspective before presenting our own.

Example 1: I see your point, but I believe there are other factors that we should consider before making a final decision.

Today's 2nd phrase is: I understand where you’re coming from; however…

Meaning / Use: This phrase shows empathy before introducing a different viewpoint.

Example 2: I understand where you are coming from; however, I have a different opinion, perhaps because of my perspective as a sales representative.
