Definition: to make a person leave; to send someone away.
Example 1: The owner turned them out after they didn't pay their rent.
Example 2: His parents turned him out when he was young, so he lived with his aunt.
Notice that this phrasal verb is TRANSITIVE and it can be SEPARATED. When the object is a pronoun, it must go between TURN and OUT.
