PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: DROP BEHIND: meaning and examples

Happy Friday to our DV readers! I hope that your week was wonderful.

For Phrasal Verb Friday, we are looking at the verb TO DROP BEHIND.

Definition: to get further behind or away from something or someone.

Example 1: He was in first place, but after kilometre three of the race, he dropped behind.

Example 2: If you don't attend class every day, you will drop behind in your schoolwork.

This phrasal verb is INTRANSITIVE.
