MOTHER VOCABULARY (MOTHERING)

To honour the recent celebration of Mother's Day around the world, this week we are looking at words that are traditionally related to mothers and maternity. 

Today's word is: Mothering

Definition 1: the activity of bringing up a child as a mother.  

Example 1: My ex-husband accused me of bad mothering just because I didn't buy our daughter a new car for her 16th birthday.

Definition 2: relating to or characteristic of a mother, especially in being caring, protective, and kind.

Example 2: Look, I love you a lot and I know you love me. But you don't have to mother me so much. I can take care of myself.
