LEARNING TIPS: DEVOTION TO ENGLISH: meaning and examples

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Vitamin!

Attached with this message is a PDF copy of the motivating article "Devoción por el inglés" which was published in "El Periódico" on December 10th, 2005. It tells the story of eighty-five year old Josep Galí, a retired farmer who is blind in one eye, and who has become very passionate about learning English...through self-study!

"Lo que sabe lo ha aprendido de forma autodidacta, con la colaboración del nieto, un diccionario y un inseparable lente de aumento."

I found the story to be very inspirational, and wanted to pass it on to you. Mr. Galí understands the message that we are constantly trying to pass on to our students and Daily Vitamin users: Nobody can teach you English, you must learn English.

Although I don't expect anyone who is reading today's Daily Vitamin to do 7 or 8 hours of English study per day, like Mr Galí, I do think that 7 or 8 minutes per day is reasonable; it doesn't take much. The important thing is not to stop...don't lose your rhythm of English learning in 2006, and I promise that you will notice a difference! Make contact with English a part of your daily routine.

If you would like a copy of our document Sugerencias para facilitar la adquisición del inglés, please send an email to vitamin@ziggurat.es and we will forward you a copy. The objective of this simple document is to give you ideas of things you can do to learn English with very little time.

Happy New Year!
