JUMP-3: meaning and examples

Hello again.

Today we continue our review of expressions with the English word JUMP.

Today's 1st expression with JUMP is: to jump at something

Meaning: to enthusiastically accept an opportunity, offer, etc.

Example 1:
When my boss asked me if I was interested in serving as the new CEO for our Japanese affiliate, I jumped at the chance. I'll be moving there in November. I'm very excited!

Today's 2nd expression with JUMP is: to jump in

Meaning: to interrupt a conversation.

Example 2:
Before Jenny even had time to answer, Alex jumped in with an objection. Sometimes he can be very rude.
