DOWNSTAIRS: meaning and examples

Meaning: on or to a floor of a house or other building lower than the floor that you are on, especially the one at ground level.

Example 1:
After she finished her shower, she came downstairs to join us for dinner.

Example 2:
Please wait downstairs in the hall; I'll be down in a moment.
