BREAK-7: meaning and examples
Hello again everyone.
Today we finish our look at different uses of and expressions with the English word break.
Today's expression is: to break in
Meaning: to enter a building or a car by force.
Example 1:
While we were on holidays, burglars broke in to our house. However, they only took the television set, which didn't work anyway. They actually did us a favour.
Example 2:
Thieves have broken in to my brother's car so many times, by breaking the glass, so he has decided to leave the windows down from now on.
There are, of course, many more uses of the word break, but we will come back to them at another time. I hope you have found this series useful.
