WORLD-1: meaning and examples
Good morning again everyone.
As you know, we are right in the middle of the 2014 World Cup of football, so I thought we'd look at some expressions with the word WORLD.
Today's expression is: to be worlds apart
Meaning: to be completely different in attitudes, opinions, etc.
Example 1:
You can't compare the performance of my 1992 Toyota with your new BMW; they're worlds apart!
Example 2:
My brother and my dad are arguing again. They are worlds apart in their political views, so they always end up having a heated argument when they get together.
