WORDY WEDNESDAY: OFFICEMATE VOCABULARY: meaning and examples

Good morning everyone. It's Wordy Wednesday today.

As you know, on Wordy Wednesday the Daily Vitamin focuses on English vocabulary. Today we are looking at officemate vocabulary.

You can use the following words to describe the people at your job.

Word 1: Officemate

Example 1: I really like my officemate, George. He is very friendly.

Word 2: Co-worker

Example 2: I ride the train with my co-worker because we are also neighbours.

Word 3: Peer

Example 3: When I present to my peers, I get really nervous.

Word 4: Colleague

Example 4: One of my colleagues studied with me at university.

The words officemate and co-worker are more informal, while peer and colleague are more formal.

I hope you and your colleagues have a great Wednesday. Tune in tomorrow, when we look at formal and informal business emails.

Enjoy the rest of your day!
