TO GO ADJECTIVE
TO GO ADJECTIVE: meaning and examples
Welcome back to the Daily Vitamin, everyone. I hope your day is going well.
Today's structure is: to go adjective: for example, to go grey, to go bald, to go crazy, to go blind, to go broke, etc.
It means: to change from one condition to another condition, usually a worse one.
Example 1: Maribel is going grey, but she has decided not to dye her hair.
Example 2: I saw this man on television who was going bald and he claimed that his hair was growing back again because a cow had licked the top of his head. I don't know, but it doesn't sound very scientific!
Example 3: I swear that I am going senile. I cannot remember where I put anything or what I am supposed to do next!
⇒ To get some writing practice, I encourage you to write your own sentence (or two) with the to go adjective structure. You can post your sentences to one of our social media sites (Facebook or Bluesky) and we will give you feedback about your writing ASAP.
