TENSE TUESDAY: SIMPLE PAST FOR A SERIES OF COMPLETED ACTIONS: meaning and examples
Hello, readers! Good morning.
For Tense Tuesday we are looking at the Simple Past and how we use it to talk about a series of completed actions.
Example 1: Today I woke up at 6 am, took the dog for a walk, made breakfast, drove my children to school, came home, got ready for work, and then took the train to my job. I had a crazy morning!
Example 2: We left at 7:00 and we arrived at 9:00.
Example 3: He looked up, noticed the beautiful sky, and took a photo.
In each of these examples, the actions are completed in the past (and they are not on-going actions). And these actions happened in the order that we present them.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading!
