TENSE TUESDAY: SCHEDULED EVENTS: meaning and examples

Good morning again everyone.

On Tense Tuesday the Daily Vitamin focuses on one of the twelve English tenses.

Today we are looking at the present progressive to talk about scheduled events.
Two weeks ago, we looked at how to use the simple present to talk about scheduled events.

Example 1: My plane leaves at 9:00 in the morning.

Click on the link below to review that lesson about using the present simple to talk about scheduled events.

The present progressive can also be used to talk about scheduled events.

Example 2: My plane is leaving at 9:00 in the morning.

Example 3: I am making dinner tonight.

Example 4: She is driving Tim to football practice in five minutes.

Tune in tomorrow for Wordy Wednesday, when we look at some False Friends in Spanish and English.

Have a great day!
