SHOPPING VOCABULARY (RETAIL THERAPY)

Today's expression is: RETAIL THERAPY

Definition: the practice of shopping in order to make oneself feel more cheerful.

Sentence 1: Retail therapy doesn't work. You may feel better for a couple of hours or a couple of days, but it doesn't bring true happiness; it can often make things worse.

Sentence 2: Products purchased during a retail therapy shopping spree are often called "comfort buys."
