SAYINGS-2: meaning and examples

Good morning again.

Today we look at another common saying in English.

Today's English saying is: a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

Meaning: It is better to keep something that you already have than to risk losing it by trying to get much more.

Translation to Spanish: más vale pájaro en mano que ciento volando

Example 1:
John: I've been offered 5,000 euros for my car. Should I take it, or wait for a better offer?
Mary: Take the 5,000 euros. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Example 2:
I could quit my job and find a better one, but during this economic crisis a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
