NUMBER EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples
Hello again. Today we continue our review of expressions that have numbers in them.
Today's expression is: To put two and two together
Meaning: to guess the truth from what you see, hear, etc.
Example 1:
He's going to put two and two together. He saw his wife kissing Jason after work; he knows she's having an affair!
We could also use this expression to express someone NOT guessing the obvious.
Example 2:
He's inclined to put two and two together and make five! Don't worry, your husband will never think we're having an affair.
