LAST EXPRESSIONS-1: meaning and examples

Good morning everyone. I hope you had a nice weekend.

In November of 2005 we did a Daily Vitamin about the difference between the words latest and last. Over the next several days, we are going to look at expressions with the word LAST.

Today's expression is: a last resort

Meaning: a person or a thing that you rely on when everything else has failed.

Example 1:
Look Eric...I've tried everyone else on the team and it hasn't gone well. You're my last resort. Please consider helping me.

Example 2:
I think the operation should be a last resort; before, I think you should try natural remedies.
