Good morning.

Today's word is: keynote

Meaning: The central idea of a book, a speech, etc.

Example 1:
Quality is the keynote of the new education policy.

It's also quite common to use this word to refer to the most important speaker at an event.

Example 2:
The keynote speaker at the conference yesterday spoke about global warming. It was a very interesting speech.

We can also use the word keynoter to refer to a keynote speaker.

Example 3:
For the first time, a woman will be the keynoter at the convention.
