IDIOMS WITH 'LETTER': MAN / WOMAN OF LETTERS

Hello and welcome to day four of our theme Idioms with the word "letter" in them.

Today we are learning the expression MAN / WOMAN OF LETTERS. 

Definition: A scholar or author. 

Example 1: My great-grandfather was definitely a man of letters. We inherited his library, and it's filled with old volumes of important books. 

Example 2: You're a woman of letters... would you mind looking at this proposal I'm submitting to the city council?
