HELP EXPRESSIONS-2: meaning and examples
Hello again.
Today we continue our look at some expressions that use the word help in them.
Today's help expression is: God / Heaven help someone
Meaning: used to say that you are afraid someone will be in danger or that something bad will happen to them.
You should note that some people can find this use offensive.
Example 1:
God help us if this plan doesn't work!
Example 2:
Are you telling me that Bert has been appointed as the new CEO? Oh my... heaven help us!
