This week we are going to look at expressions with the verb PLAY.
Today's expression is: to play along (with someone or something)
It means: to pretend to agree with something or someone; to pretend to cooperate with someone in a joke or a scam.
Example 1:
I decided to play along with John for the moment to see where his idea was going.
Example 2:
He told his mother that he had been studying at the library, but he had really been playing football with his friends. I played along with him so he wouldn't get in trouble.
