Today is the last day of our Expressions-with-BOOTS theme.

Today's expression is: BOOTS ON THE GROUND.

Definition: Soldiers who are physically at a place where there is military activity. 

Example 1: We need more boots on the ground

Example 2: How many boots are on the ground?

We also use this in a non-military sense to talk about workers and people who can complete a project. 

Example 3: You two will be our "boots on the ground" in South America. You will help us open an office there. 

Example 4: We need a team to be our "boots on the ground" in the USA. We want to start franchises there.
