EXPRESSIONS RELATED TO WITCHES (WITCH HUNT)

Hello everyone, I hope your day is going well.

Since next Sunday is Halloween, this week we are looking at expressions related to WITCHES. 

Today's expression is: WITCH HUNT

Definition: the original meaning was "a searching out for persecution of persons accused of witchcraft." But today it is defined as "the searching out and deliberate harassment of those with unpopular views (such as political opponents).

Sentence 1: In the 1950s in the US, many politicians were victims of a congressional witch hunt against Communists.

Sentence 2: The President and his allies loved to paint the committee as just another partisan witch hunt.
