Today's expression is: TO GO IN ONE EAR AND OUT THE OTHER
Meaning: to be forgotten quickly.
Example 1:
John: Don't get me wrong, Mary; I love the kids...but everything I tell them just goes in one ear and out the other!
Mary: I know, honey, but that's normal. They're only kids. Be patient!
Example 2:
If I have to listen to something I don't understand, it just goes in one ear and out the other.
