COOKING VOCABULARY: A PIECE/SLICE OF THE ACTION

Today we are continuing with our Cooking Vocabulary theme, with the expression (TO GET / WANT) A PIECE / SLICE OF THE ACTION.

Definition: Involvement in something successful that someone else has started.

Example 1: Property values started rising, and then many people became real estate agents. Everyone wanted a slice of the action. 

Example 2: When the company started making a lot of money, a lot of investors tried to buy a portion of the business. Everyone wanted a piece of the action.
