CHRISTMAS IDIOMS: MAKE MERRY : meaning and examples

Happy Thursday, everyone! How's your week going?

This week our theme is Christmas Idioms.

Today's idiom is: MAKE MERRY.

Definition: To enjoy oneself with others by dancing and drinking.

Example 1: I just want to hang out, have fun, and make merry.

Example 2: We made merry all night.

Truthfully, we do not use this expression often; it's old-fashioned. We really only use it in a joking way, around Christmas time.

That's all for today. Thank you for reading!
