CHRISTMAS IDIOMS: CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED : meaning and examples

Hello and welcome to our last week of lessons for 2020! I hope you had a great weekend.

This week our theme is Christmas Idioms.

We are starting with the idiom: CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED.

Definition: A joking expression about not celebrating the holidays because of someone’s actions or bad attitude.

Example 1: They don't have any eggs at the store so I can't make cookies. Christmas is cancelled!

Example 2: First I had to work late, and then the packages I ordered did not arrive. That's it... Christmas is cancelled!

Many thanks for spending some time with us today.

Have a great day!
