BUSINESS JARGON: LOW-HANGING FRUIT : meaning and examples

Welcome back, everyone! How was your weekend? I hope it was good.

This week's theme is Business Jargon. The word JARGON refers to special words that a specific industry or sector uses. We will look at five words or phrases often used in the world of business.

Today's phrase is: LOW-HANGING FRUIT

Definition: The easy-to-complete tasks or easy-to-solve problems. (Similar to the easy-to-pick fruit that is on the lower branches of a tree.)

Example 1: Let's start with some of the low-hanging fruit, like organizing the office, before we start invoicing.

Example 2: Maybe we can save the conversations about our new business plan for later in the meeting. We should begin by tackling some of the low-hanging fruit.

To be honest, many think this phrase is overused and a little cliche. But that's also why you should know it: you’ll probably see it and hear it in correspondence!

That's all for today. Thank you for reading!
