Today's Animal Idiom is: To let the cat out of the bag

Meaning: to reveal a secret carelessly, often by mistake.

Example 1: I was trying to keep the surprise party a secret, but Jack let the cat out of the bag.

Example 2: I'm very sorry. Janet knows about the party next week. I'm afraid I let the cat out of the bag.
