I hope you had a good weekend. St. Valentine's Day is later this week (February 14th) so in celebration of that, we are going to explain an idiom with the word love each day this week.
Today's expression is: a labour of love
It means: something that you do which is difficult but you do it because you love it.
Example 1:
Katie: How long have you been building that chair, Ben?
Ben: For about half a year. Sometimes I think I will never finish it... but I won't stop. It's become a labour of love.
Example 2:
Marcus is a hard-working entrepreneur. He works 14 hours a day and his business is like his baby. It's a labour of love.
