PUSH-3: meaning and examples

Good morning again.

Yesterday I finished the Daily Vitamin with the following sentence.

Tomorrow we will push ahead with our plan to review two more push expressions.

Today's 1st push expression is: to push ahead / forward (with)

Meaning: to continue with a plan in a determined way.

Example 1:
The government is pushing forward with its budget cuts and economic stimulus in their attempt to fight the financial crisis.

Today's 2nd push expression is: to push your luck

Meaning: to take a risk because you have successfully avoided problems in the past.

Example 2:
The police didn't catch you last time, but don't push your luck!
