TENSE TUESDAY: RECIPROCAL PRONOUNS: meaning and examples

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a fabulous day and ready to learn a little grammar. Today we are looking at the reciprocal pronouns EACH OTHER and ONE ANOTHER

We use EACH OTHER and ONE ANOTHER in a situation when two or more speakers do an exchange of actions. In the past, EACH OTHER was for two people and ONE ANOTHER was for more than two people, but these days we use them interchangeably.

Example 1: Sarah and Sophia helped one another with their homework. (Sarah helped Sophia and Sophia helped Sara.)

Example 2: Sarah and Sophia helped each other with their homework.

Example 3: The twins always look at each other before answering a question.

Example 4: The twins always look at one another before answering a question.

Example 5: It's tradition that the bride and groom don't see each other on their wedding day.

Example 6: It's tradition that the bride and groom don’t see one another on their wedding day.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading! Have an excellent day.
