PHRASAL VERB FRIDAY: WALK IN ON (SOMEONE): meaning and examples

Hello, DV readers! Welcome to the last lesson of the week.

For Phrasal Verb Friday, we are looking at a very interesting three-word phrasal verb: TO WALK IN ON SOMEONE

Definition: to enter a typically bad situation, unexpectedly. 

Example 1: I walked in on my children eating all of the cake I made. 

Example 2: She walked in on them while they were talking about her. 

Example 3: I walked in on my boss while he was checking his Facebook page. 

The most common use of this phrasal verb is for cheating

Example 4: She walked in on her boyfriend with another woman. Awful!

As you can see, this is a TRANSITIVE phrasal verb. It is NON-SEPARABLE
