EXPRESSIONS WITH BOOT(S): TO BOOT SOMEONE OUT : meaning and examples

Happy Monday, Daily Vitamin readers!

The weather is getting colder and some of you might be wearing your winter clothes, like BOOTS. We thought this week is a good time to learn Expressions with the word BOOT or BOOTS.

We are beginning with the phrasal verb TO BOOT (SOMEONE) OUT (OF SOMEWHERE)

Definition: To force someone to leave a place because he or she is not wanted.

Example 1: They booted the angry man out of the baseball game because he was yelling bad words and throwing popcorn.

Example 2: If you use your phone in the movie theatre, they will boot you out!

This expression is interesting because it uses BOOT as a verb. You can imagine a person, who is wearing boots, literally kicking someone out of a place!

That's all for today. Enjoy your Monday!
