THEME THURSDAY: IDIOMS WITH 'COLD' (COLD FEET): meaning and examples

Welcome to the first Theme Thursday of the year! Because it’s January and the cold weather is here, we are looking at IDIOMS WITH COLD for this month’s theme. We are beginning with the expression TO HAVE / GET COLD FEET

Definition: to lose nerve or confidence, usually meaning that a planned event or action will not occur. 

Example 1: They planned to marry in February, but then they got cold feet. They called off the wedding in the last minute!

Example 2: The investors got cold feet so the project isn’t going to happen now. 

Example 3: Are you going skydiving with us? Don’t get cold feet

Example 4: I don't think he wants to go. I think he has cold feet
