UNDERSTANDING: meaning and examples

Good morning. Today's word is: understanding It means: to show that you understand or care about someone else's problems. It is a synonym for sympathetic. The translation for understanding is comprensivo. This word is sometimes incorrectly translated into English as comprehensive. However, comprehensive means to include everything. For example a comprehensive study of the job market. Example 1 When I lost my mother's antique vase, I thought she would be angry. However, she was very understanding and told me not to worry about it. Example 2 The receptionist explained that the product imperfections were the fault of the manufacturer. But the client was not at all understanding and demanded an immediate refund from her.
