TO TELL OFF
TO TELL OFF: meaning and examples
Good morning everyone.
Today we continue looking at words and expressions that were recorded from last weekend's English Immersion in the Coromina Hotel in Viladrau (http://www.xaletcoromina.com/).
Today's expression is: to tell (someone) off
Meaning: The act of speaking angrily to someone, often a child, because they have done something wrong; to reprimand.
Example 1:
He told me off only because I arrived 5 minutes late. He's in a bad mood today.
Example 2:
His mother really told him off after he stole a pack of gum from the supermarket.
